Ordering a dedicated SSL

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology allows for the secure transfer of sensitive data, such as credit card information, between a web browser and a server. This type of service is particularly valuable when establishing an online store or even a secure information website. Depending on the type of website hosting subscription you have, the order process for an SSL certificate differs.

Order an SSL certificate on Cloud Hosting

SSL certificate orders for Cloud Hosting accounts are completely automated. In order to initiate this automated process, customers must call our sales team and order the SSL certificate over the phone.

Order an SSL certificate on cPanel

SSL certificate orders for cPanel Hosting accounts are not automated. Follow the below steps to order an SSL certificate for their cPanel Hosting account.

  1. Visit the SSL Certificate product page
  2. Click [Add to Cart]
  3. Type in the specific host name you want to order the SSL certificate for
  4. Fill in the required details (make sure you have access to the Approver Email address that you select)
  5. Click [Continue]
  6. Click [Continue]
  7. Log into the account that hosts your cPanel Hosting subscription
  8. Complete the order
  9. An order confirmation email will be sent from our SSL provider to the Approver Email address that you have selected
  10. Click on the confirmation link in the email in order to approve the order
  11. A second email (that includes the certificate details) will be sent from our SSL provider to the Approver Email address that you have selected
  12. Once you receive this email, forward it to our support team requesting they organise to install the SSL certificate on your account

Order an SSL certificate for a VPS or hosting provided by a third party

SSL certificate orders for websites hosted outside of our shared hosting environment are not automated. Follow the below instructions to order an SSL certificate to be used outside of our shared hosting environment.

  1. Visit the SSL Certificate product page
  2. Click [Add to Cart]
  3. Type in the specific host name you want to order the SSL certificate for
  4. Fill in the required details (make sure you have access to the Approver Email address that you select)
  5. Click [Continue]
  6. Click [Continue]
  7. Log into the account that hosts your cPanel Hosting subscription
  8. Complete the order
  9. An order confirmation email will be sent from our SSL provider to the Approver Email address that you have selected
  10. Click on the confirmation link in the email in order to approve the order
  11. A second email (that includes the certificate details) will be sent from our SSL provider to the Approver Email address that you have selected
  12. You will then need to use the certificate details provided in the email to install the certificate onto your VPS or hosting service provided by a third party. If you are using our VPS please contact our support team for assistance with installation.
