How to install Microsoft 365 applications on your computer

Please note, that the different Microsoft Plans offer different levels of access to the applications. We have collated the relevant information in the table below on plans we offer and how to download and install the Microsoft 365 applications.

Microsoft Email Deluxe (Exchange Online P1)The Microsoft Email Deluxe (Exchange Online P1) plan offers online access to the Microsoft Outlook application, which can be accessed via outlook.com. You can also add your email account to your device's mail client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more). If you want access to the other Microsoft applications and the dektop apps, you will need to upgrade your plan to either Business Standard or Business Premium. Microsoft Email Deluxe (Exchange Online P1) can only be purchased in your Webcentral account and is not available on the website, click here to find out how to purchase this license.
Office 365 F3The Office 365 F3 plan offers access to the online Microsoft 365 applications. You can also add your email account to your device's mail client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more). If you want access to the other Microsoft applications and the desktop apps, you will need to upgrade your plan to either Business Standard or Business Premium.
Microsoft Business BasicThe Microsoft Business Basic plan offers online access to the Microsoft Outlook application, which can be accessed via outlook.com. You can also add your email account to your device's mail client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more). If you want access to the other Microsoft applications and the desktop apps, you will need to upgrade your plan to either Business Standard or Business Premium.

You can also add your email account to your device's mail client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more). Please follow the instructions below to download and install the Microsoft 365 applications. Log into your account at https://portal.office.com.Click on the Install Office button.Follow the prompts. If you want to install an alternative version of desktop applications you can follow the instructions below: Log into your account at https://portal.office.com.Click on the Other Installed link (located underneath the Install Office button).Select Office under the Software menu on the left side of the screen.Read through the options and select the most appropriate ones.Click Install.

Microsoft Apps for BusinessThe Microsoft Apps for Business plan offers online and offline access to the Microsoft 365 applications, which can be accessed here: https://portal.office.com. It does not include an email license. If you require an email as well as the Microsoft 365 applications, please purchase either Business Standard or Business Premium. Please follow the instructions below to download and install the Microsoft 365 applications. Log into your account at https://portal.office.com.Click on the Install Office button.Follow the prompts. If you want to install an alternative version of desktop applications you can follow the instructions below: Log into your account at https://portal.office.com.Click on the Other Installed link (located underneath the Install Office button).Select Office under the Software menu on the left side of the screen.Read through the options and select the most appropriate ones.Click Install.

The table below provides a list of the desktop applications available to download with a Microsoft Business Premium and Microsoft Apps for Business subscription.

Desktop ApplicationDescription
WordMicrosoft Word or MS-WORD (often called Word) is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. The purpose of MS Word is to allow users to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make documents.
ExcelMicrosoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for Windows, Mac OS X, Android, and iOS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.
PowerPointMicrosoft PowerPoint is a slide show presentation program developed by Microsoft. PowerPoint initially named "Presenter", was created by Forethought Inc. Microsoft's version of PowerPoint was officially launched on May 22, 1990, as a part of the Microsoft Office suite.
AccessMicrosoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) from Microsoft that combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software-development tools.
PublisherMicrosoft Publisher is an entry-level desktop publishing application from Microsoft, differing from Microsoft Word in that the emphasis is placed on page layout and design rather than text composition and proofing.
OutlookMicrosoft Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, available as a part of the Microsoft Office suite. Although often used mainly as an email application, it also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note-taking, journal, and web browsing.
