Manually analyse website log file

If you want to review the raw visitor log files yourself, you can download them off of our servers. You can also run them through a log analyser of your choosing. Below are some instructions on how to download the raw log files, as well as how to run them through one particular analyser.

How to download website log file on Cloud Hosting

  1. Obtain your accounts FTP details
  2. Install an FTP client on your computer
  3. Connect to Host:logs.netregistry.net using your FTP username and password
  4. Navigate into the /logs directory
  5. Download the log file for the month you want to view logs for
    The file format is access.log.month-year.bz2

How to download website log file on cPanel Hosting

  1. Log into your Account
  2. Manage the domain you want to make changes to
  3. Click cPanel
  4. Click on the Raw Access Logs icon
  5. Download the log file you want to analyse

Run the log file through a log analyser

The below steps will guide you through how to run a log file through Funnel Web Analyzer. Users may use any software they feel comfortable with using however.

  1. Unarchive the log file using a program of your choice
    7zip is a highly recommended program for manipulating archives
  2. Download Funnel Web Analyzer
  3. Install Funnel Web Analyzer on your computer
  4. Open Funnel Web Analyzer and Click on Settings > Report >
  5. Choose the path you wish to export the processed log into
  6. Select Process > (Choose the log file) you wish to process
  7. Funnel Web Analyzer will then export the file to the designated directory
  8. You can then view the stats by opening the "index.html" file located in the directory you processed the log into
