I Just Received an Email Asking for my ABN?
in October 2025, we are sending out emails to some of our customers asking for their ABN/ACN or eligibility details for their .AU domain name.
Who is Affected?
If your .AU domain has recently renewed with the Netregistry (Webcentral) ABN than this applies to you. You would have also received an email from us.
You may also have received an email with the subject "[Your Domain] Deleted", please know that this is not spam and your domain has been set to lapse on the registry due to no reply.
Why is it Important to Update my Domain?
It is important to have up-to-date eligibility details so that you are meeting the rules for .AU domain names. Things like non-active ABNs mean you may not meeting the rules set by auDA to hold your domain.
What do I need to do?
Please contact us with your ABN/ACN or eligibility details. You can review the rules by visiting auDAs website here. If you wish to have the domain lapse, just let us know.
Who is auDA?
auDA stands for .au Domain Administration and is the official organisation responsible for managing the .au domain namespace. This is every domain that ends in .AU.
Key facts about auDA

- They create the rules for licensing a .AU domain and these rules form part of the terms and conditions relating to an agreement with a Registrar. A Registrant (you) and a Registrar (us) must comply with these auDA Rules, as amended from time to time by auDA.
- auDA works within Australia and internationally to support open, secure and global internet governance. It also runs the .au membership program, giving Australians a voice in how the .au domain is managed and developed.
