# Backing up and restoring sites in Plesk

> Learn the benefits of backing up and restoring sites in Plesk.

This article discusses site backups and restores in Plesk. By backing up your sites, you can help ensure that in the event of a problem, you can restore them quickly and easily.

## Backing up your site

To back up your site in Plesk, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Plesk.

2. In the left sidebar, click **Websites & Domains**.
3. Click the site you want to back up.
4. Click the **Dashboard** tab, and then in the **Files & Databases** section, click **Backup & Restore**.
5. On the **Backup Manager** page, click **Back Up**.
6. Under **Backup content**, in the **Back up** section, select what you want to include in the backup.
7. In the **Type** section, select whether you want a full backup or incremental backup.
8. Under **Backup settings**, customize the backup settings that you want to use.
9. Click **OK**. Plesk starts the backup immediately.

### Scheduled backups

The previous procedure demonstrates how to run an immediate backup. You can also schedule backups to run at predefined intervals in the future. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Plesk.

2. In the left sidebar, click **Websites & Domains**.
3. Click the site you want to back up.
4. Click the **Dashboard** tab, and then in the **Files & Databases** section, click **Backup & Restore**.
5. On the **Backup Manager** page, click **Schedule**.
6. On the **Scheduled Backup Settings** page, select when you want the backup to run.

## Restoring your site

To restore your site from a backup, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Plesk.

2. Click the site you want to back up.
3. Click the **Dashboard** tab, and then in the **Files & Databases** section, click **Backup & Restore**.
4. On the **Backup Manager** page, click the backup you want to restore.
5. Under **Backup content**, next to **What do you want to restore?**, select one of the following options:
   * **Selected objects**: Select this option if you want to restore specific items.
   * **All objects (entire system)**: Select this option if you want to restore the entire site.
6. Under **Restoration options**, customize the restore settings that you want to use.
7. Click **Restore**. Plesk restores the backup.
